HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Despite jumping out to a 1-0 lead, Eastern Kentucky lost at Northern Kentucky, 3-1, on Tuesday.
The Colonels fell by scores of 25-17, 23-25, 16-25 and 18-25.
Rachel Vick finished with a team-best 13 kills for Eastern Kentucky (17-11). She made just four errors in 29 attacks for a .310 attack percentage.
Alexis Plagens finished with 12 kills.

Jayden Julian posted a match-high 17 kills for Northern Kentucky (15-7). Keely Creamer added 14 kills and Jenna Ruble added 12 kills. Those three combined for 43 kills and only seven errors.
NKU had 57 kills and 17 errors compared to 52 kills and 22 errors for Eastern Kentucky. Northern posted a .303 team attack percentage. The Colonels had more digs, more aces and fewer service errors, but were out-blocked 8-4.
EKU will host a pair of Ohio Valley Conference matches this weekend. Tennessee State visits McBrayer Arena at 6 p.m. on Friday and Belmont comes to town for a 2 p.m. match on Saturday.
