RICHMOND, Ky. –The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team will play Tennessee State University Friday at 6 p.m. and Belmont University Saturday at 2 p.m. in Alumni Coliseum.
EKU's record is 17-11 overall and 7-3 in the conference. The Colonels and Jacksonville State are tied for third in the Ohio Valley Conference. Eastern is second in the OVC in digs, averaging 16.16 per set.
The Colonels fell to Northern Kentucky Tuesday, 3-1. Eastern's
Rachel Vick had a team high of 13 kills with only four errors giving her a .310 hitting percentage. She is third in the OVC with a .321 hitting percentage.
Dena Ott led with 20 digs. She leads the OVC, averaging 5.13 digs per set. Senior
Alexis Plagens added 12 kills.
The Tigers (9-16, 3-7 OVC) lost against Southeast Missouri Friday, 3-0. Arijana Anderson led TSU with 12 kills and Haley Hampton added 11 kills. Naomi Wells had a team high of 20 digs accompanied by eight kills.
Belmont (12-12, 8-2 OVC) beat Southeast Missouri, 3-0, on Saturday. BUs' Scarlet Gable led with 14 kills, had a .414 hitting percentage and 13 digs. Alex Martin finished with 11 kills. The Bruins are second in the OVC with an average of 1.44 service aces per set and third in the conference with 1.94 blocks per set.
