RICHMOND, Ky. –The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team will play two conference games this weekend. EKU will travel to Eastern Illinois University Friday for a 7 p.m. match and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Saturday for a 4 p.m. match.
EKU's record is 19-11 overall and 9-3 in the conference. The Colonels are tied for second place in the Ohio Valley Conference with Belmont University. Eastern is third in the OVC with 16.39 digs per set. Eastern Illinois is 11-14 (5-7 OVC) overall. SIUE is 12-15 (4-8 OVC) overall.
The Colonels won in four against Tennessee State Friday and beat Belmont University, 3-0, Saturday. Easterns'
Alexis Plagens had a team-high of 16 kills and
Rachel Vick added 10 kills against TSU. Both
Dena Ott and
Julia Mindlina led with 20 digs. Saturday, Plagens led the team with 18 kills and Ott had 15 digs against the Bruins.
Ott leads the OVC in digs at 5.12 per set and Plagens is ranked third in the OVC averaging 3.45 kills per set.
The Cougars beat Southeast Missouri in five Saturday. SIUE's Kristen Torre had the team high of 19 kills. Torre leads the OVC with a .357 hitting percentage and is fourth with 4.02 points per set. Taylor Held had 12 kills, and Chelsea Colclasure added 25 digs.
The Panthers beat UT Martin in three Saturday. Eastern Illinois's Allie Hueston had 15 kills and Stephanie Wallace added 19 digs. Wallace is ranked fourth in the OVC with 4.48 digs per set. Marah Bradbury is second in the OVC with 10.67 assists per set.
