MAROOCHYDORE, Australia – A 12-0 run to end the second quarter propelled the Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball team to a 125-91 victory over the Suncoast Clippers on Monday at the Maroochydore Basketball Stadium.

The Colonels never trailed and the game was tied just three times.  All nine players that played scored in double figures, eight had at least one rebound and seven dished out at least one assist.

Redshirt sophomore Jaylen Babb-Harrison led all players with 21 points.  Senior Timmy Knipp finished with 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks.  He hit 5-of-9 from the field, including 4-of-8 from behind the three-point line.

Sophomore Isaac McGlone accounted for six of EKU's points during the big run with a pair of three-pointers.  Babb-Harrison's two free throws sent the Colonels to the locker room leading 69-46.

The Clippers got as close as 15 points early in the third quarter, but eight unanswered by EKU put the game away.  Babb-Harrison got it started with a three-pointer and freshman Daniel Norl completed it with an old-fashioned three-point play.

Eastern Kentucky took its largest lead of the game, 36 points, on a three-pointer by Tommy Matthews late in the fourth quarter.

EKU shot 56 percent from the field, including 46 percent from deep.  The Colonels made 21-of-46 attempts from behind the arc.  More than half of the teams 80 field goal attempts came from three-point land.  Eastern committed just 12 turnovers, compared to 24 for Suncoast.

Senior Corey Walden finished the night with 13 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals.  Eric Stutz contributed 14 points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks.

Robbie Stenzel (14), McGlone (13), Norl (13), Paul Jackson (10) and Matthews (10) also scored in double figures.  Jackson, a freshman, hit 4-of-5 from the field, dished out five assists and grabbed four boards.

Kenny Scott led Suncoast with 20 points.  Josh Tueta had 12 points and 14 rebounds.

The Clippers play in the Queensland Basketball League (QBL).  Their season started in May and the team is currently tied for ninth in the 13-team league with a 6-10 record.

The Colonels will conclude their four-game tour of Australia on Thursday against the Cairns Taipans.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time and 5 a.m. ET.
