RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University's volleyball team takes on Indiana University in the UIC Invitational in Chicago, Illinois this weekend.
The Colonels will play two matches on Friday, facing Indiana at 3 p.m. followed by a match with host University of Illinois-Chicago at 8 p.m.
Eastern will finish the tournament on Saturday against Western Illinois at 11 a.m. and Buffalo at 6 p.m.
The Colonels started out their pre-conference schedule 7-2 overall with a win against Wright State this past Tuesday.
IU started their season 6-0 overall. The UIC Flames are 2-5 overall. Western Illinois stands 1-6 overall. Buffalo enters the weekend at 4-3 overall.
Senior
Alexis Plagens ended her week against Wright State with a team high of 19 kills and a .327 hitting percentage. She also recorded 19 kills against IPFW in the Flyer-Raider Invitational. Plagens leads the team and is second in the Ohio Valley Conference with 3.68 kills per set.
Rachel Vick had 18 kills and four blocks in the home opener against Marshall. She also added five blocks in the Flyer-Raider Invitational against Wright State. Vick leads the OVC this season with a .396 attack percentage.

Celina Sanks recorded nine kills against Wright State Tuesday at EKU.
