RICHMOND, Ky. –The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team plays three matches this weekend in the Carolina Classic presented by Courtyard Marriott in Columbia, S.C.
 
The Colonels will play two matches on Friday, facing The Citadel at 1 p.m. followed by a match with host South Carolina at 7 p.m. Eastern will finish the tournament on Saturday against Norfolk State at 11 a.m.
 
The Colonels, 8-5 overall in 2014, finished the past weekend 1-3 at the UIC invitational in Chicago, Ill.
 
The Citadel Bulldogs stand 4-7 in non-conference play. South Carolina is 7-2 overall. Norfolk State has started the season 0-9.
 
EKU's Dena Ott had 19 digs against Illinois-Chicago last weekend. She leads the Ohio Valley Conference, averaging 4.53 digs per set.  Abbey Cvelbar is ranked second in the OVC with 10.68 assists per set.
 
Rachel Vick had 11 kills against Buffalo and Western Illinois in the UIC invitational. She also had nine blocks throughout the weekend. She is second in the OVC with a hitting percentage of .385.
