RICHMOND, Ky. – After starting the season with three wins in four matches, the Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team is set to play at home on Wednesday for the first time this season. The Colonels will take on Marshall at 6 p.m. in McBrayer Arena.
 
Eastern opened its 2014 season Friday in the UCF Invitational in Orlando, Florida.  The Colonels split the first two matches of the season with a 3-2 win against Northeastern University and falling to host Central Florida, 3-0.
 
On Saturday, Eastern shut out both Florida International and Western Carolina by scores of 3-0. The Colonels combined to have 86 kills against only 22 errors in 212 attempts during the day. Freshman outside hitter Celina Sanks and senior setter Abbey Cvelbar made the Radisson UCF Invitational All-Tournament team for their efforts.
 
Cvelbar was also named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference setter of the week on Monday. She had a match-best 49 assists with 12 kills and only two errors (.435) in a win over Northeastern.  She led all players with 31 assists in the Colonels' loss to Central Florida.  Cvelbar had a match-high 30 assists and four aces in a 3-0 victory over FIU.  She closed the weekend with a match-best 35 assists, five kills, no errors and 15 digs against WCU.
 
The match will be Marshall's first road match of the season after opening with one win against UIC and two losses against Eastern Michigan and Virginia Friday and Saturday in the Thunder Invitational in Huntington, West Virginia.
 
The match between Eastern and Marshall will be the first home athletic event in the newly renovated McBrayer Arena.
