RICHMOND, Ky. – After winning their home opener against Marshall 3-1, the Colonels will travel to Dayton, Ohio for the Flyer-Raider Invitational this weekend.
 
The tournament, co-hosted by Dayton and Wright State, will feature seven teams.  Eastern, Dayton, Wright State, Bakersfield, Bowling Green, IPFW and No. 12 Nebraska will all play Friday and Saturday.  
 
The Colonels will play their first match Friday at 3 p.m. against Wright State. The Raiders are 2-2, with wins coming against Chicago State and North Carolina A&T last week. Wright State dropped its season opener against Indiana State, 3-0, and its home opener Tuesday against Northern Kentucky, 3-0. 
 
Saturday the Colonels will play against two teams that have had early success this season. IPFW (3-0) won the Bronco Classic last weekend in Kalamazoo, Michigan and No. 12 Nebraska is 2-2, with their losses coming against No. 13 Florida State and No. 3 Stanford.
 
 The matches against IPFW and Nebraska will start at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
 
The Colonels will be 4-1 going into their game against Wright State. Junior Rachel Vick led the Colonels against Marshall with a match-best 18 kills. She made only one error and posted a .708 attack percentage while blocking four shots. Alexis Plagens finished with 17 kills. Abbey Cvelbar contributed 47 assists and Dena Ott totaled 23 digs.
