RICHMOND, Ky. – The EKU volleyball team looks to keep momentum going as it hosts two Ohio Valley Conference opponents Homecoming weekend at McBrayer Arena.
The Colonels picked up two pivotal OVC wins on the road last weekend over Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech. EKU will face off against both teams again this weekend.
A 3-0 win over Jacksonville State last week marked the first road win of the season for the Colonels. Johanna Boyer and Rachel Vick both tallied 10 kills in the win. The Colonels' offense posted a season-best .303 hitting percentage.
EKU carried its momentum into Saturday picking up a 3-1 win over the Golden Eagles. Three Colonels recorded 10 or more kills in the contest to help EKU move to 4-4 in OVC play.
Tennessee Tech's (10-10, 3-5 OVC) Cody Dodd averages an OVC-best 4.17 kills-per-set and also leads the conference with a 4.91 points-per-set average.
Jacksonville State (11-15, 2-6 OVC) is led by Charis Luedtke's 2.86 kills-per-set average which ranks 10th in the OVC.
EKU is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Colonel volleyball this season. Eastern's first 49 years includes seven Ohio Valley Conference regular season championships, nine OVC Tournament titles and seven more pre-NCAA conference and regional championships.
