RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky fell to Murray State, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in McBrayer Arena.
The Racers won by scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 25-15.
EKU jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first set. A service error from the Racers and kills from
Rachel Vick and
Cassie Knutson gave EKU the advantage before the Racers evened the nod and worked their way to the win.
Vick led the Colonels with seven kills and four blocks. Knutson finished with three kills, along with five digs.
Chloe Rojas had a team-best with eight digs.
Murray State's (13-1, 3-0 OVC) Sam Bedard posted game-highs in assists (28) and hitting percentage (.600).
Saturday's match marked the final of a four-game home conference stretch for the Colonels. EKU split home series picking up wins over Tennessee State and Morehead State.
The Colonels (3-16, 2-2 OVC) will hit the road for a four-game road trip beginning on Friday, October 9 at Southeast Missouri State and ending at Tennessee Tech.
Eastern returns home on October 23 to again face Tennessee Tech.
