Volleyball Set For OVC Tournament

MURRAY, Ky. – The EKU volleyball team will make its 28th appearance in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament Thursday.

The Colonels (10-22, 9-7 OVC) are seeded fifth for the tournament and will square off against fourth-seeded Tennessee State in the quarterfinal round.

Eastern Kentucky won its previous two meetings against the Tigers this season. Sophomore Celina Sanks racked up 26 kills to go with 18 digs in the two wins.
 
The Colonel defense will look to slow down Chloe Watson who averages 3.59 kills-per-set, ranking fifth in the league.
 
Eastern Kentucky is celebrating its 50th year this season. With nine OVC tournament titles, the Colonels have the most of any program in the conference. The most recent tournament title came in 2004 for the Colonels.
 
Murray State will host the event after posting a 15-1 record in OVC play and winning the regular season title.
 
The Colonels have an all-time record of 13-19 in OVC tournament play heading into Thursday's match. Eastern has made the tournament each of the past three seasons. Thursday's match is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET.
