MURRAY, Ky. – In a compelling Ohio Valley Conference Tournament match, the Tigers of Tennessee State University used a late 5-2 run in the fifth set to derail the EKU volleyball team's bid to its 10th OVC tournament title. 
Tennessee State won by scores of 25-14, 22-25, 25-21, 25-27 and 15-9. 
After trailing 2-0 early in the fifth, the Tigers (16-13, 10-6 OVC) rallied to close the deciding set on a 5-2 run to advance to the OVC Tournament semifinals. 
With a 10-7 lead, a service ace from Tennessee State forced an Eastern timeout. Ayanna Chase found an open spot in the floor for the kill, extending the Tigers' lead to 12-7. 
The Colonels, however, responded with two straight points of their own. A kill from 
Ally Peters narrowed the deficit to 12-8, before an erred set from Tennessee State helped Eastern Kentucky pull within three, 12-9. 
Leading 12-9, the Tigers' opportune use of a timeout sparked what would be a 3-0 run to close the set and the match on a kill from Chase. 
The Tigers took a 1-0 lead after winning the opening set 25-14. Eastern Kentucky responded with a 25-22 second set victory, before each team took its second to force the final set. 
Rachel Vick led the Colonels with her first career double-double. Vick logged a match-high 14 kills along with a career-high 11 blocks in the loss.  Sophomore 
Celina Sanks also recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs for the Colonels. Junior 
Johanna Boyer added 13 kills and two service aces. 
The Colonels finish the 2015 season with a 10-23 record and a 9-7 mark in OVC play. EKU leads the OVC with nine tournament titles with its most recent title in 2004.
