RICHMOND, Ky. – A five-run fourth inning sent Eastern Kentucky to an 8-6 over Miami on Tuesday at Turkey Hughes Field.

Logan Starnes drove in
Kenny Hostrander to get the big inning started and gave the home team the lead for good. Three batters later
Mandy Alvarez drove in a pair with a single up the middle.
Taylor Blair's two-run single capped the five-run inning and gave Eastern (16-24) an 8-3 lead.
Jake Ramano gave the RedHawks (9-32) a 3-1 lead with a three-run home run in the third inning. EKU tied it in the bottom half of the frame on an RBI triple by
TJ Alas and a sacrifice fly by
Ben Fisher.
Matt Lynch (2-1) was tough on the mound for the Colonels. The senior gave up four runs on seven hits in seven innings of work. He walked two and struck out two.
Kyle Nowlin went 3-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored. Alvarez finished 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs.
Miami got two runs off the bullpen in the eighth, but never got any closer. Ramano finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three driven in. Adam Yacek and Scott Slappey each had three hits.
The Colonels and RedHawks will continue their two-game mid-week series on Wednesday in Oxford. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
