EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – On day three of the 2015 OVC Softball Tournament, Eastern Kentucky University saw its season come to an end with a 13-6 loss to Jacksonville State.

The Colonels conclude the year with a 24-28 overall record.

Eastern, seeded No. 5 in this year's tournament, jumped in front of No. 2 Jacksonville State with three runs in the second inning. Freshman Paige Murphy keyed the outburst with a two-run double to left field.

Unfortunately, the Gamecocks stormed back with four runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth to pull away from the Colonels. Jacksonville State defeated Eastern Kentucky in all four meetings this season.

Sophomore Krislyn Campos finished 3-of-4 with an RBI and run scored out of the lead-off position. Murphy chipped in with two doubles while senior Shannon McQueen and sophomore Amber Murray added two hits as well.

This was the final game for six Eastern Kentucky seniors – McQueen, Lauren Mitchell, Leanna Pittsenbarger, Shaylon Robb, Darcy Schueler and Katie Tackett.

Jacksonville State advances in the elimination bracket to play another game Friday night.
