RICHMOND, Ky. — The EKU volleyball team continues its Ohio Valley Conference home stretch this weekend as the Colonels host Tennessee State University and Belmont University at McBrayer Arena.
EKU will take on Tennessee State Friday night at 6 p.m. Saturday's match against defending OVC champion Belmont is scheduled for 2 p.m.
TSU brings its 2-2 record in league play into Richmond. The Tigers picked up two conference wins last weekend with wins over Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State in Nashville. Tennessee State fell to Belmont and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on the opening weekend of OVC play.
Senior Chloe Watson leads the offensive attack for the Tigers. Watson ranks fourth in the league, averaging 3.43 kills-per-set.
For the Bruins, junior Arianna Person's 3.78 kills-per-set is third best in the league. Person's 0.48 aces-per-set average leads the OVC, while four other Bruins rank in the top five in the conference. Belmont leads the nation in the category, averaging 2.36 aces-per-set on the season.
Belmont is 3-1 in Ohio Valley through its first four matches. The Bruins opened the conference slate, winning its first three matches with victories over Tennessee State, Eastern Illinois, and Tennessee Tech. Jacksonville State handed the Bruins their first OVC loss on Saturday with a 3-1 win in Nashville.

Mallory Maxwell's 4.72 digs-per-set is second in the OVC.
The Colonels split last week's matches in Richmond. EKU picked up its sixth straight win over Morehead State with Wednesday's 3-0 victory before falling to Austin Peay 3-1 on Saturday.
EKU will host a FREE volleyball clinic open to children kindergarten through eighth grade. The clinic will be held in Alumni Coliseum immediately following Saturday's match.
