MOREHEAD, Ky. – The EKU volleyball team will tote its six match win streak against the Eagles of Morehead State University to the Johnson Arena for an Ohio Valley Conference match on Wednesday.
Wednesday's first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Colonels have won the last six meetings against the Eagles dating back to the 2013 season. EKU has won its last four matches this season.
Reigning OVC Newcomer of the Week
Nikki Drost leads the EKU offense with 3.10 kills-per-set. Her average ranks eighth in the league. Junior
Celina Sanks ranks ninth in the league with 2.98 kills-per-set.
Drost was voted the league's Newcomer of the Week for the second straight week after helping the Colonels to wins over Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech last weekend.
Morehead State enters Wednesday's match second in the league in both opponent hitting percentage (.159) and blocks (2.44 per set). Freshman Karlee Reynolds has logged 120 blocks this season, ranking third in the conference with 1.22 blocks-per-set for the Eagles.
The Colonels were efficient in the first meeting this season, hitting .288 on the night. The Eagles hit .147. Both teams recorded six blocks. EKU rolled to a 3-0 win over the Eagles earlier this season at McBrayer Arena.
