MURRAY, Ky. – After winning its last five matches and six of its last seven, the EKU volleyball team will travel to take on defending Ohio Valley Conference regular season champion Murray State University on Saturday.
With three regular season matches remaining, the Colonels (13-12, 8-5 OVC) are currently in fourth place in the OVC standings. Meanwhile, Murray State sits atop the league standings with a 12-1 record in conference play.
Eastern Kentucky handed Morehead State a 3-2 loss in Morehead on Wednesday marking the seventh straight victory for the Colonels in the series.
The Colonels' defense averages 1.94 blocks-per-set. EKU has logged 45 blocks in the last four matches, including a season-high 14 blocks against the University of Tennessee at Martin on Oct. 22. Junior middle blocker

Murray State enters Saturday's match third in the OVC with a .203 hitting percentage. The Racers lead the league with their 13.55 kills-per-set average. Senior Scottie Ingram leads the Racer offense, averaging 4.21 kills-per-set which ranks second in the OVC. Senior Hannah Stultz ranks first in the league in service aces (0.42) per set.
