- EKU (6-7) fell at Norfolk State, 87-80, in overtime on Monday night. The Colonels led by four with just over two minutes to play in overtime; however, NSU closed out the game with a 12-1 run to earn the victory.
- It was EKU's second overtime road loss in its last three games. The Colonels have now played four overtime games this season, tied for the most in a single season in program history.
- Freshman guard
Asante Gist paced EKU on Monday with 23 points and a career-high six assists. Gist now ranks eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring at 14.8 points-per-game.
- Senior
Isaac McGlone poured in a career-high 21 points at Norfolk State. He added six rebounds and three steals. McGlone shot 5-of-7 from downtown, and he now ranks second in the OVC in three-point field goal percentage (46.0%).
- Freshman forward
DeAndre Dishman came off the bench to match a career-high with 12 points against the Spartans. His fast-break dunk with less than a minute to play in regulation tied the game at 72-72 and forced overtime.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Manhattan (4-8) has won two of its last three games, including a 61-54 win at St. Francis Brooklyn on Tuesday night.
- Zavier Turner leads the Jaspers at 17.8 points-per-game.
- This is the third-all-time meeting between EKU and Manhattan, and the first in the Bronx. The series is tied, 1-1. The first time the two teams met was on February 11, 1947 at the Louisville Armory. Manhattan won that matchup, 62-56. EKU defeated Manhattan, 76-64, last year at McBrayer Arena.
