- EKU (6-8) has played its last five games on the road. The Colonels have not played at McBrayer Arena since an 89-80 win over Marshall on December 3.

Nick Mayo just missed his third double-double of the year at Manhattan last Thursday, scoring 14 points and grabbing nine boards. Mayo has scored 13 or more points in every game this season, and he ranks fourth in the OVC in scoring at 18.1 ppg. Only 45 games into his collegiate career, Mayo is already seventh on the OVC's active career scoring list (704 points).
- Freshman
Asante Gist averaged 16.0 points-per-game, 4.0 assists-per-game and 3.0 rebounds-per-game last week. He scored 23 points and dropped a career-best six assists at Norfolk State on Monday. Gist leads all OVC freshmen in scoring (14.4 points-per-game), assists (3.9 assists-per-game) and minutes played (30.2 mpg).
- Senior
Isaac McGlone ranks in the top-10 in the OVC in free throw percentage (7th / 81.8%), three-point field goal percentage (6th / 43.6%), steals (6th / 1.7 steals-per-game) and assist-turnover ratio (8th / 1.6). McGlone has a career assist-turnover ratio of 2.6 (197/76).
- McGlone is the OVC's active career steals leader (136).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- This is the fifth all-time meeting between EKU and UVa-Wise (known as Clinch Valley College until 1999). EKU has won all four previous meetings. The Colonels won the last matchup between the two teams, 100-83, on November 27, 1993 at McBrayer Arena.
- UVa-Wise (2-8, 0-4 Mountain East) defeated Berea College, 86-63, on December 8, but has lost two straight since then.
- Taiwan Badmus averages 21.1 points-per-game and 9.4 rebounds-per-game to pace the Cavaliers.
