Aaron Patrick was chosen to the Hero Sports 2016 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Sophomore All-America Team.
Patrick was the only Ohio Valley Conference player chosen to the first team.
In November, Patrick was selected first team all-conference.
The 6-foot-4, 227-pound Dayton, Ohio native finished the season with seven sacks, a total of 10 tackles for a loss and 53 total tackles. He also recorded 10 quarterback hurries, and forced a fumble.
Patrick ranked second in the OVC and 42nd in the nation with an average of 0.64 sacks per game. He was eighth in the league with 0.91 tackles for a loss per game. In conference games only, Patrick led the conference with 6.5 sacks.
He registered nine tackles in a game twice this season, at Ball State and against Jacksonville State. On Oct. 1 at Tennessee Tech, Patrick finished with eight tackles, 3.0 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks.
