RICHMOND, Ky. – The EKU football team held its annual Pro Day on Tuesday as seven Colonels worked out in front of NFL personnel.
Participating for the Colonels were
Gabe Fletcher (DL),
Khatavian Franks (LB),
Cam Junior (OLB),
Frank Lee IV (OLB),
Jalen Montgomery (RB), Vito Tisdale (DB), and
Jaheim Ward (DB).
On the day, the group was tested on the bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, 40-yard dash, L-drill, and shuttle before being put through individual position work.
"What they put out here today, they deserve this opportunity," said head coach
Walt Wells on the day. "Pro Day is a great day for our guys, allowing them to show who they are and what they bring to the table physically."
Multiple Colonels turned in impressive numbers throughout the day.
Jaheim Ward turned heads with strong performances throughout the drills, including a 4.4 time in the 40-yard dash, a 36.5-inch vertical, and a 10-foot, six-inch broad jump.
The impressive figures put Ward in elite company in this year's draft class with the 10
th highest vertical of safeties at this year's NFL Combine, seventh best broad jump, and tied for fifth in the 40-yard dash.
Montgomery showed off his explosiveness with a 36-inch vertical and 10-foot, three-inch broad jump, which would have both been sixth best in his position group at the NFL Combine this year.
Lee shone in the broad jump with a mark of 10 feet, five inches, tied for the third-best among linebackers at the combine.
