JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Shea Sullivan had two hits and drove in a run in the Colonels 9-3 loss at Jacksonville State in game two of a weekend Ohio Valley Conference baseball series on Saturday.
Sullivan got Eastern on the board first in the top of the first inning. After
Cole Warrenfeltz led off the game with a single to left, Sullivan drove him home with a double to left center.
Sullivan finished 2-for-5 with an RBI. Warrenfeltz went 2-for-4 and scored a run.
EKU trailed just 4-1 before Jacksonville State (29-18, 17-6 OVC) platted five runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull ahead. Josh Bobo got it started with a two-run single to left field. Gavin Golsan capped the big inning with a single to right center that scored two more.
Eastern Kentucky (22-26, 11-12 OVC) scored twice in the eighth, including an RBI single by
Matt Olive, to close the gap to six.
Golsan was 3-for-4 with a run and three RBIs.
The Colonels will try to win the series on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
