LORETTO, Pa. – After posting season highs in hitting percentage in three consecutive matches, the EKU volleyball team will return to action as it takes on Saint Francis University on Friday at the Red Flash Classic.
Eastern Kentucky will play Saint Francis at 7 p.m. on Friday before taking on Iona College and the United States Naval Academy on Saturday.
The Colonels logged its best hitting night of the season in a lengthy four-set loss to Youngstown State last Friday. EKU followed up Friday's performance, hitting .311 and .344 as it picked up wins over the University of Akron and Canisius College on Saturday at the Akron Invitational.

Celina Sanks enters the weekend averaging 3.51 kills-per-set and ranks seventh in the Ohio Valley Conference. Junior
Nikki Drost racked up 43 kills in Akron, averaging 3.91 kills-per-set for the Colonels.
Defensively, junior
Mallory Maxwell led the team with 5.09 digs-per-set over the weekend and picked up OVC Defensive Player of the Week honors. She currently ranks fifth in the league with 4.51 digs-per-set.
Saint Francis senior Breanna Opera leads the Red Flash, averaging 3.07 kills-per-set. The Gaels' offense relies heavily on sophomore Claire Archibald's 3.17 kills-per-set.
Navy's offense is second in the Patriot League with 12.74 kills-per-set entering the weekend. Meanwhile, sophomore Sydney Shearn sits atop the conference with 4.82 digs-per-set.
