RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky lost both games of an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader to visiting Belmont on Friday.  The Bruins won by scores of 7-3 and 2-0.
 
In game one, the Bruins broke a 2-2 tie with five runs in the top of the sixth.  Nick Egli hit a two-run home run and Chas Hadden had a two-run double in the frame.
 
Dylan King (2-2) gave up just one earned run in seven innings of work for Belmont.  He allowed six hits and struck out 11.  Egli was 1-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.  Hadden drove in three while finishing 1-for-4.
 
Shea Sullivan had three hits in four at bats and scored a run for Eastern Kentucky.
 
In game two, Belmont (7-8, 2-1 OVC) scored its first run on a single by Egli in the top of the first and went up 2-0 on his RBI single through the left side in the fourth inning.  Egli finished 3-for-4 with the two RBIs in the second game.
 
Eastern (8-8, 1-2 OVC) starter 
Bryan Quillens pitched well, giving up two runs on four hits in five innings.  He walked two and struck out three.  He was out-dueled by Belmont starter Connor Etheridge (1-0), who pitched seven shutout innings, gave up four hits and struck out 12.
 
Four different Colonels had one hit each.
 
EKU is scheduled to host Alabama A&M for a two-game series beginning Tuesday.  First pitch at Earle Combs Stadium is set for 4 p.m.
