TUCSON, Ariz. – The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team is set to cap the west coast swing this weekend at the Cactus Classic at the University of Arizona.

The Colonels will play three games. Two games on Friday, Arizona at 3:30 p.m. eastern time and Radford at 7:30 p.m. They will then play Grand Canyon at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Arizona (2-1) opened their season at the LUV Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee where they won games against East Tennessee State and Middle Tennessee State University but lost to Lipscomb in four on Saturday. The Wildcats lost six athletes coming into this season, including PAC-12 Setter of the Year and All-American setter Penina Snuka.

Radford (3-0) began their season undefeated at the Lehigh Fall Classic where they defeated Lehigh, Coppin State and Marist. The Highlanders made quick work of the teams, only playing a total of 10 sets through the three matches. The Colonels have met Radford only twice on the hardwood, but hold a 2-0 record against them. The last meeting was in 2013.

EKU will also face Radford next weekend, September 8, at the Carolina Classic in Columbia, South Carolina.

Grand Canyon (3-0) also opened their season on a positive note by going undefeated at the Syracuse Tournament with wins over Syracuse, Siena and Niagra. The Antelopes averaged 18.55 digs-per-set over the three matches.

EKU (2-2) is coming into the weekend off of a loss in five sets at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. During the match two Colonel seniors notched their first double-doubles of the season,
Celina Sanks (16 kills, 13 digs) and
Nikki Drost (19 kills, 14 digs).
