RICHMOND, Ky.- After dropping a pair of conference games on the road last weekend, the Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team will look to regain momentum on the road this weekend, before returning home on Halloween. The Colonels will travel to Jacksonville State University and Tennessee Tech University, two conference foes that the Eastern defeated earlier this season, both in five-sets.
Friday's match against Jacksonville State will be held in Jacksonville, Alabama at 8 p.m., and Saturday's match against Tennessee Tech is set to begin at 3 p.m. in Cookeville, Tennessee.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- The Colonels (3-19, 2-8 OVC) dropped road matches against Eastern Illinois University and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville last weekend.

Cassie Knutson collected a triple double with 16 kills, 15 digs, and 13 assists in Saturday's loss against SIU Edwardsville.
- Knutson leads the team offensively with 251 kills

Chloe Rojas leads the team defensively with 351 digs
- Rojas was the third Colonel to take Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors following the 2017 campaign.
- Rojas and Knutson were each named to the preseason all-conference team.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS:
Jacksonville State University:
- The Gamecocks (11-12, 4-6 OVC) fell to Murray State University in five-sets last weekend.
- Lexie Libs had a career-high 61 assists against Murray State, and marked the most by a Gamecock since Jennifer Hart also dished 61 against Eastern Kentucky on Oct. 25, 2014.
- Lena Kindermann leads the team offensively with 248 kills.
- The Gamecocks have three players with more than 200 kills this season.
- Kaylie Milton anchors the Gamecocks defensively with 244 digs.
Tennessee Tech University:
- The Golden Eagles (9-15, 3-6 OVC) were defeated in five-sets by OVC leader Austin Peay State University.
- Kirsten Brugere had a team-high 22 digs in the loss to Austin Peay.
- Brugere leads the team defensively with 410 digs on the season.
- The TTU offence is led by Ali Verzani and Rachel Thomas, both have over 250 kills on the season.

The Colonels will return home to face conference rival Morehead State University on Halloween at 6 p.m.
