KANSAS CITY, Mo.

For its success in the classroom, the program earned its seventh Team Academic Award on Thursday, courtesy of United Soccer Coaches (USC).

Only Rice (3.77 GPA) and St. John's (3.76 GPA) outperformed the Colonels in the classroom in 2017-18. New Mexico also posted a 3.75 team GPA.

During the Fall 2017 semester, 14 Colonels finished with a 4.0 GPA, while 20 made the Dean's List. Ten soccer student-athletes garnered a 4.0 GPA and 16 made the Dean's List during the Spring 2018 semester.

"As proud as out staff is of the players' success on the field, we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments in the classroom," head coach Nick Flohre said. "This achievement shows the players are true student-athletes and are fully committed to gaining knowledge in the classroom that will lead them to great success after college."
