RICHMOND, Ky. – Rachel Woody put up 31 assists and 12 digs to help lead Eastern Kentucky to victory over Belmont in four sets Friday night at McBrayer Arena.
 
The Colonels won by scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-22, and 25-18.
 
Three Colonels reached double-digits in kills. 
Cassie Knutson had 18 kills and eight digs. 
Clairissa Hankinson had 13 kills and Katelyn Caserma-Kloeble added 10. 
Chloe Rojas had a match-high of 28 digs in the contest. 
Maria Ferragonio came up with nine digs of her own.   
 
The Bruins opened the first set with a 2-0 lead. Knutson's electrifying kill put the first Colonel points on the scoreboard. Eastern went on an 8-2 run after a Rojas service ace extended its lead to 13-7. After Taylor Floyd's kill, Belmont edged toward the lead but couldn't recover. The Colonels went on to win the set 25-18.
 
In set two, Knutson's kill opened up the stanza. Most of the set was a lead exchange between the Colonels and the Bruins. Belmont used a 4-1 run to take the set, 25-22, after a kill by Floyd.
 
Set three also featured a two-point exchange between the teams. The biggest lead came at the end of the set. The Colonels were on a 6-1 run when 
Rachel Woody sealed the set with a kill. EKU won the set, 25-22.
 
Down 10-12 in the fourth set, the Colonels scored six straight points. Hankinson capped the 6-0 run with a kill to make it 16-12. Eastern Kentucky ended the set with a Hankinson kill, 25-18.
 
Floyd had a team-high 17 kills along with 11 digs for Belmont. Carly Mason had a match-high 41 assists in the contest. Hailey Sullivan had a team-high of 16 digs.
 
EKU moves to 5-22 overall and 4-11 in conference play while Belmont falls to 5-22 and 5-8 in OVC matches.
 
The Colonels will return to McBrayer Saturday at 6 p.m. ET to face Tennessee State. The match will serve as both the Colonels' senior night and last home contest.
