COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky hit three home runs, but lost, 12-6, at No. 19 Tennessee Tech in the opening game of an Ohio Valley Conference series on Friday.

The Golden Eagles broke free from a scoreless tie with five runs in the bottom of the second inning. Tech (42-6, 23-2 OVC) led the rest of the way. The solo dingers by the three Colonels came in the third, fifth and sixth innings, but after putting up a four-spot in the bottom of the sixth TTU led 11-3.

Logan Stephens had a two-run double in the three-run ninth inning that allowed Eastern Kentucky (26-24, 15-10 OVC) to set the final score.

Kerr and Johnson both finished with two hits each.
