In 2017, Scott was a second team All-Ohio Valley Conference pick as a kick returner by coaches and communications directors, and chosen to the OVC All-Newcomer Team as a running back and kick returner.

The 6-foot, 217-pound Marion, Ohio native compiled 629 kickoff return yards on 21 returns, an average of 30 yards per return. He led the OVC and finished fourth in the country in kickoff return average. Scott had 141 kickoff return yards on four returns (35.3 ypr) at Kentucky (Sept. 9), including a 53-yard return. He totaled 150 yards on four returns (37.5 ypr) at No. 3 Jacksonville State (Oct. 14), ripping off returns of 57 and 48 yards.

Scott rushed for 294 yards on 86 carries and scored a team-best six rushing touchdowns. He was fourth in the conference in rushing touchdowns and ranked seventh in the league in all-purpose yards (94.27 yards per game).
