Mikayla Logan racked up a team-high nine kills as the Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Florida Gulf Coast Saturday afternoon at the University of New Mexico.

The Colonels (0-6) fell by scores of 25-20, 25-10 and 25-23.

In the third set the teams were knotted at 5-5 until EKU rattled off four in a row to move the score to 9-5. Eastern remained in front down the stretch until a trio of kills from FGCU (4-2) tied the score again at 17. A kill from Cortney Vanliew sealed the set and match for the Eagles.

Cassie Knutson contributed eight kills and 14 assists while
Rachel Woody added 11 assists.
Chloe Rojas tallied 14 digs.

The Colonels will be back in action September 7-8 at the Rebel Challenge in Las Vegas, Nevada.
