CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team fell to Indiana University, 3-0, on the final day of the Queen City Classic at Xavier University.

The Colonels fell by scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-18.

Despite the Hoosiers (9-2) jumping out to an early lead in set one EKU drew within one off of an Indiana attack error, 12-11. IU responded by rattling off eight in a row to take a seven-point advantage, 20-13, that the Colonels were unable to recover from. An attack error iced the set, 25-16.

EKU took the first point of the third set after a putaway from
Lindsey Wilkins and the teams exchanged points down the stretch. Indiana used a 6-2 run to create distance yet again and tilt the score, 17-11. The Hoosiers caught fire, hitting .409, to finish the match, 25-18.

Cassie Knutson had a team-high 10 kills while
Rachel Woody finished with a team-high 21 assists.
Chloe Rojas collected 13 digs and was named to the Queen City Classic All-Tournament Team.

The Colonels (1-11) open up Ohio Valley Conference play at home this weekend, welcoming in Tennessee Tech on Friday at 6 p.m. and Jacksonville State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
