EKU Volleyball Wraps Up Season On The Road At Austin Peay

RICHMOND, Ky. –
The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team wraps up its season on the road at Austin Peay on Saturday.
 
First serve against Austin Peay is scheduled for 3 p.m.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
 
-Eastern comes into the week at 9-20 (4-11 OVC), after falling in the midweek to in-state rival Morehead State.
-Freshman Abby Noll leads the way offensively for the Colonels with a team-best 371 kills (3.95 kills per set) and 290 digs on the year. Noll's 3.95 kills per set ranks third in the conference on the year. Noll was named OVC Co-Newcomer of the Week, the fourth time she has won the honor this year.
-Dena Tekavec brings her team-high 443 digs (4.61 digs per set) into the weekend. Her 4.61 digs per set ranks fifth in the OVC.
-Senior Rachel Woody leads the team with 686 assists on the year. Her 8.57 assists per set ranks seventh in the conference.
-Eastern ranks first in the conference in digs per set. The Colonels' 17.11 digs per set ranks 25th in the NCAA.
-EKU ranks fourth in the conference in opponent hitting percentage.   
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT:
 
AUSTIN PEAY
-The Governors come into the weekend at 10-19 (8-7 OVC) after falling in the midweek to Murray State.
-This is the first meeting this season between the two teams.
-The Govs offense is paced by Brooke Moore and her team-best 353 kills on the year. Her 3.18 kills per set ranks seventh in the OVC.
-Freshman Kelsey Mead comes in ranked 10th in the conference in assists per set with 6.08.
-Ginny Gerig has an OVC best 532 digs on the season. Her 4.84 digs per set ranks second in the conference.
-The Governors rank fourth in the conference in kills on the year.
