JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – In a game that saw 17 lead changes, 17 ties and neither team led by more than eight points, Eastern Kentucky's men's basketball team fell 104-101 in double overtime at Jacksonville State on Saturday at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

A three-pointer by
Dujuanta Weaver from the right wing gave EKU a 99-96 lead in the second overtime, but the Gamecocks scored eight unanswered to claim the win. Ty Hudson's lay-up with less than 30 seconds remaining gave JSU the lead for good, 101-99.

With Jacksonville State up one in the first overtime period, Hudson went to the free throw line with a chance to give his team a three-point lead with 10.1 seconds left. He made just one.Â
Kelvin Robinson grabbed the rebound and took it all the way to the basket for a lay-up to tie the game with 4.2 seconds to play and send the contest to a second overtime.

With the game tied 76-76 in regulation,
Nick Mayo hit on a lay-up and Trey King connected on a baseline jumper to put the visitors in front by four, 80-76, with 2:49 showing on the clock.

EKU was still up four, 82-78, after Mayo banked in a shot with 1:15 remaining. The Colonels failed to seal the win by missing three free throws in the final 35 seconds. Jamall Gregory's dunk with 11.9 seconds left tied the game, 82-82, and sent the teams to overtime.

Mayo had a game-best 32 points on 13-of-27 shooting from the field. He also had 14 rebounds and three assists. He moved past Eddie Bodkin and into sixth place on Eastern's career rebounds list with 818.

Weaver hit five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points. Brown and
Peyton Broughton each scored 12.

Gregory led Jacksonville State with 21 points.

EKU shot 48 percent from the field while the Gamecocks made 54 percent of their shots. .

The Colonels will host Austin Peay at home on Thursday. Tip-off in McBrayer Arena is set for 7:30 p.m.
