RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky Ubeat Evansville, 2-0, before falling to Boston College, 13-2, on Saturday at Earle Combs Stadium.

In game one against Evansville, senior Kaven Brown dominated on the mound.  He did not allow a run, scattered five hits and struck out eight in eight and one-third innings.  Closer Aaron Ochsenbein came in with the tying run at the plate and retired the final two batters to preserve the shutout.

It was EKU's first shutout since beating Eastern Illinois, 5-0, on April 21, 2018.

Freshman Brent Lovell gave the Colonels all the run support they would need when he singled to right center in the bottom of the fourth to score Will Johnson.  A.J. Lewis added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI double to left center.

Lovell finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.  Lewis went 1-for-3 with one driven in.

In game two, Boston College (6-4) broke open a tie game with eight runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Ryland Kerr's double to left field drove in Michael Brewer and tied the score 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning for Eastern Kentucky (7-5).  The score remained tied until the Eagles put together a big inning.  Brian Dempsey and Jack Cunningham each had two hits in the inning.
