MOREHEAD, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University's beach volleyball team lost a pair of contests to in-state rival Morehead State University on Tuesday afternoon.  
 
The Colonels (1-11) were shutout in the first match, 5-0, before falling in match number two, 4-1.  
 
In match number one, the Eagles wasted no time getting on the board.  In the number four pairing Rachel Woody and Kennedy Wilson fell in the opening set 21-9. They stormed back to take the second set 21-18 to force set number three. They fell 15-13 in the final set.
 
Morehead State (11-4) took the rest of the pairings in straight sets to win the match 5-0.
 
In match two Woody and Wilson got the Colonels on the board in the second match. They took the first set 21-15, before falling in the second set 21-16. They took the final set 15-12 to make the score 1-1.
 
MSU won the next three matches in straight sets to win the match, 4-1.
 
Eastern will return to the sand April 12 when the team travels to Clarksville, Tennessee to play in the Austin Peay Tournament. The first match will start at 2 p.m.
