MURRAY, Ky. – For the second day in a row, Eastern Kentucky built a 7-1 lead and Murray State staged a late comeback, this time beating EKU 8-7 in the series finale on Sunday.

The Colonels will play Northern Kentucky on Tuesday at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Will Johnson's RBI double in the top of the fourth brought home two runs and put EKU in front 7-1.

Murray State's comeback started with three runs in the bottom of the fifth, two of which came home on a single through the left side by Bryan Chilton. MSU trailed 7-5 before scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead for good. Ryan Perkins hit a two-run home run over the wall in right field to tie it. Jake Slunder scored on a balk later in the inning for the go-ahead run.

Johnson finished 3-for-5 with a run and two RBIs for Eastern Kentucky (23-21, 10-11 OVC). Perkins went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs for Murray State (19-21, 13-8 OVC). Chilton had a 2-for-2 day with a walk, a run and two RBIs.
