AMES, Iowa –
The Eastern Kentucky University softball team's run in the National Invitational Softball Championship came to an end after falling to Purdue University, 3-1, on Saturday morning.

Purdue (33-28) struck first in the top half of the first inning. Mallory Baker took the 0-1 pitch over the right field wall to give the Boilermakers a 1-0 lead.

The score stayed steady until the bottom of the fourth. Hannah Clark took the 2-2 pitch into the right center gap to break up the no-hitter and put a runner on second with one out.
