Colonels Wrap Up Road Trip with Doubleheader at Tennessee Tech on Saturday

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's and women's basketball teams will wrap up this week's Ohio Valley Conference road trip with a doubleheader at Tennessee Tech on Saturday night.

The women tip from the Eblen Center at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by the men at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Both games will stream live on ESPN+.

INSIDE THE SERIES

- TTU leads the all-time series between the two teams, 69-28.
 
- The Golden Eagles won the first meeting in Richmond this year, 60-42.  
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern is 8-10 (2-5 OVC) after falling to Jacksonville State, 68-54, Thursday in Jacksonville.
 
-  Qay Stanton led the way for the Colonels posting a team-best 13 points, three rebounds and three assists against the Gamecocks on Thursday.

-  Tennessee Tech comes into the contest at 14-4 (7-0 OVC), after knocking off Morehead State, 82-75, Thursday in Cookeville.
 
-  Jordan Brock led the way for the Golden Eagles, posting a team-high 21 points and four assists.
 
-  Four players recorded double-digits in the comeback win over Morehead State.
 
-  Kesha Brady ranks sixth in OVC play averaging 16.1 points per game.
 
-  The Golden Eagles rank third in the OVC in scoring offense averaging 70.3 points per game.

Eastern Kentucky returns home when the Colonels welcome in UT Martin to McBrayer Arena on Thursday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.

WHAT TO KNOW
Jomaru Brown poured in a game-high 24 points to lead EKU (8-12, 5-2 OVC) to its second straight road win, 81-77, over Jacksonville State on Thursday night. At 5-2, the Colonels are off to their best OVC start since 2013-14.
 
Tre King matched his career-high with 18 points in the win at JSU. He sank a career-high nine field goals. He also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
 
Russhard Cruickshank sank a career-high five three-pointers and matched his career-high with 15 points at JSU. The Colonels are now 4-0 in games in which Cruickshank scores in double figures.
 
EKU shot 52.4 percent (11-of-21) from three-point range in the win over JSU. That is the Colonels' highest percentage from deep during the A.W. Hamilton era.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Tennessee Tech (5-15, 2-5 OVC) beat Morehead State, 71-59, on Thursday night in Cookeville.
 
Jr. Clay paces the Golden Eagles at 12.8 points-per-game.
 
This is the 140th all-time meeting between EKU and Tennessee Tech. The Colonels lead the series, 76-63, and have won two straight over the Golden Eagles.
 
EKU defeated TTU, 74-59, on January 2 in Richmond. In their last visit to Cookeville, the Colonels beat the Golden Eagles, 67-66, on February 21, 2019.
