RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University athletics announced its guidelines for home basketball games this season after designing a distanced seating plan and receiving necessary approvals.

Facemasks are required to be worn at all times when inside McBrayer Arena.  Upon entry into the arena, fans and staff will be temperature screened.  Due to government regulations, concession stands will not open at this time, however concessions and hospitality will continue to be evaluated and will be made available upon receiving proper approvals.

The women's first home game is Saturday against rival Morehead State at 2 p.m.  The men's first home game is also against Morehead State, on Monday at 7 p.m.

McBrayer Arena will operate at 15 percent of capacity, including all staff and participants.  Season ticket holders were given the chance to receive tickets with similar vantage points, and around patrons they are used to seeing, before additional seats were released to the general public.

Each ticket will be reserved and have a specific seat number.  Only 50 single-game tickets remain available for purchase at this time.  Currently, single game tickets are on sale for the Morehead State women's basketball game on Dec. 5, Morehead State men's basketball game on 7, Transylvania men's basketball game on Dec. 12, Alabama A&M women's basketball game on Dec. 15 and the Campbellsville-Harrodsburg men's basketball game on Dec. 17.  Additional game ticket releases will be announced in the coming weeks.  The remaining inventory of tickets are available in pods of one, two and four tickets only and can be purchased through the ticket office at www.ekusports.com.

EKU Athletics has instituted a variable pricing model for all single game tickets and prices for games vary between contests.  If additional tickets become available as a result of unclaimed student tickets or unclaimed player/guest pass list tickets, they will be released 48 hours before tipoff with an announcement made available via social media accounts associated with the programs.

For additional ticket information or questions call the EKUSports Ticket Office at 859-622-2122.

The EKU pep band, cheerleaders and dance team will be present at select home games and seated in the stands.

Fans with pre-existing health conditions, or those who are at a greater risk, should consider not attending on-campus sporting events during this time.  It can't be guaranteed that fans will not be exposed to COVID-19.

Below are additional guidelines for the upcoming season.
  • Facemasks are required to be worn at all times when inside McBrayer Arena.  Ushers will be monitoring masking throughout the contest.  Anyone who refuses to wear their masks appropriately will be escorted from the venue.
  • All patrons are required to wear facemasks when traveling through the parking lots and while socializing.
  • Upon entry into McBrayer Arena, fans and staff will be temperature screened using an infrared thermometer.
  • Due to the current Commonwealth of Kentucky ban on indoor food and drink consumption, concession stands inside McBrayer Arena will not open at this time.  No food or drinks are allowed to be brought into the arena.  If approved at a later date, concessions/merchandise points of sale will be open with social distancing regulations.
  • Entrances will open 60 minutes before the start of each game.  The ADA entrance will remain on the west side of Alumni Coliseum, near the water tower.  All other fans should enter from the front of the building using the doors on the left side.
  • Hand sanitization stations will be located in the arena.
  • Signage will be displayed in common areas to assist with physical distancing.
  • A comprehensive in-game custodial cleaning plan will include restrooms, team spaces, high-traffic areas and protocol to dispatch custodial services to any area of the arena for specific needs.
  • There will be one point of entry and exit throughout each space within the venue such as bathrooms.
  • Fans and family members of players and staff will not have access to the court at any point before, during or after the game.
  • Single game tickets should be purchased through EKUSports.com. Physical tickets will not be available at the venue on game day as fans will be directed to purchase via QR code outside the venue.
  • Up to 100 tickets will be reserved for EKU students.  Students will be given one ticket per EKU ID.  The number will be adjusted during the winter break to reflect the reduced student presence on campus.
  • No re-entry upon exiting the venue.
  • During doubleheaders, each seat is assigned for the duration of both games.  Please remain in your designated seat during play.
  • Hospitality areas are currently unavailable to fans due to state and campus regulations regarding COVID-19.  If state or campus regulations are altered during the season, additions of this space to the game day experience is possible.
