RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University beach volleyball team hits the road to start their 2020 campaign at the Blazer Beach Bash hosted by UAB.    
 
The team will take on Coastal Carolina on Friday at 12:30 p.m. followed by Louisiana Monroe at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Colonels will take on host UAB at 10:00 a.m. followed by Nicholls at 1p.m.
 
Coastal Carolina comes into the weekend at 3-1 after splitting a pair of contests against UNC Wilmington over the weekend and sweeping Catawba twice. Louisiana Monroe comes into the weekend at 0-5 after facing a star-studded field at the Florida State Invitational. UAB enters the weekend at 1-1 after knocking off North Alabama, 3-2, before falling to Tulane, 4-1. Nicholls has not played a match this year. The Colonels went 0-18 last year.
 
Eastern went 2-13 last year.

Eastern returns to the sand on March 21st when the Colonels hit the road to Clarksville for the Austin Peay Beach Tournament. First serve against the Govs is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday.
