BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Eastern Kentucky University's beach volleyball team lost a pair of matches on the opening day of the UAB tournament.
 
The Colonels (0-2) lost to Coastal Carolina, 5-0, in the first match and lost to ULM, 5-0, in the second.
 
In match number one, the No.3 pairing Rachel Woody and Mikayla Logan fell in the opening set, 17-21. The pair stormed back to take the second set, 21-10, to even the match at 1-1. The Chanticleers took the final set 15-4.  
 
No.4 pairing Lindsey Wilkins and Adria Hartley lost 21-19 and 21-15.
 
ULM (1-6) swept the Colonels in the second match in straight sets.
 
Kaylin Johnson and Kennedy Wilson lost 21-10 and 21-8.
