RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky scored five runs in the third and six in the fifth on its way to a 14-2 win over visiting Norfolk State on Friday at Earle Combs Stadium. It was the Colonels fifth straight victory.

Logan Thomason followed with a single up the middle to score
Chris Botsoe and make it 4-0. A one-out, 2-run home run down the right field line by
Daniel Harris IV capped the 5-run third and gave the home team a 6-0 advantage.
Lewis had another 2-run single in the fifth, this time through the right side. Harris finished off the 6-run inning with an RBI single to right and the Colonels had a 12-0 lead.
Lewis was 2-for-5 with a run and four RBIs. Harris had a 2-for-4 day with a walk, two runs and four RBIs. Newcomer
Caleb Upshaw scored three times and drove in two while going 2-for-4 at the plate.
Brennan Kelly (1-0) started for the Colonels. He allowed one run on six hits, walked one and struck out four in six innings of work.
Mason Velasquez finished 2-for-4 with a home run, a run scored and an RBI for Norfolk State (2-10).
