Colonel Volleyball Set For First-Ever ASUN Meeting With Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –
It won't be the first time these two teams have met, but Saturday's match will be the first time the Eastern Kentucky and Bellarmine volleyball teams meet as conference rivals.
 
The match-up in Louisville will begin at 1 p.m. ET and air live on ESPN+.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  EKU is 6-0 all-time against Bellarmine. 
 
-  The two teams first met in 1977 and have not played each other since 1990. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky (6-15, 3-4 ASUN) split a pair of road matches last weekend, beating Central Arkansas 3-2 and falling to Lipscomb 3-1.
 
Sarah Mitchell had a match-best 19 kills against Lipscomb.  She had just three errors in 43 attempts for a .372 attack percentage.
 
-  EKU leads the ASUN in kills (981) and assists (917), and is second in digs (1,152).
 
Molly Michalak is second the ASUN with 254 kills this season and Mitchell is tied for third with 231 kills.  Michalak is 19th in the nation in total attacks (781).
 
Sydney Schoen is fifth in the ASUN with 4.05 digs per set and is first with a total of 332 digs.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Bellarmine is 5-14 this season with a 1-6 mark in conference matches.  The Knights suffered a pair of 3-0 shutouts on the road at Lipscomb and Central Arkansas last weekend.  
 
-  Jayme Scott recorded a match-high 15 kills in the loss at Central Arkansas.  
 
-  Scott leads the team, and is fifth in the ASUN, with 3.25 kills per set.  She also leads the team with 17 service aces.  Anna Lococo has a team-best 4.23 digs per set.  Bailey Roszman contributes a team-high 0.56 blocks per set.
 
-  Bellarmine is 12th in the ASUN Conference with 93 blocks.  EKU ranks fourth in the league with 137 blocks.
