ATLANTA, Ga. – Eastern Kentucky University's Anna Purichia was chosen as the ASUN Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday, the league announced from its Atlanta headquarters.
 
In two matches this past week, Purichia averaged 3.14 kills per set while hitting .220.  She also had five digs and three blocks.  The New Albany, Indiana native led the team with 24 points.
 
On Saturday in a 3-1 win over North Alabama, Purichia recorded 14 kills.  She had just six errors in 27 attacks for a .296 hitting percentage.  On Friday against Jacksonville State, Purichia totaled eight kills and five digs.
 
EKU will host No. 20 Western Kentucky on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
