EKU To Play Kennesaw State Thursday In ASUN Conference Tournament

FORT MYERS, Fla. –
Eastern Kentucky will travel to Fort Myers, Florida to take on Kennesaw State in the ASUN Conference Tournament on Thursday.
 
The match is slated for 10 a.m. and will air live on ESPN+.
 
Kennesaw State is the No. 2 seed from the East Division.  EKU is the No. 3 seed from the West Division.
 
The winner of Thursday's match will play in the semifinals on Friday at 4 p.m. ET against the winner of the Jacksonville State (#1W) and Stetson (#4E) match.  The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  EKU is 1-2 all-time against Kennesaw State.  The Owls won the most recent matchup, 3-1, on Oct. 24.
 
-  Sarah Mitchell logged 11 kills and six digs for the Colonels in October's contest. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky (10-20, 7-9 ASUN) has won four of its past five matches, including a 3-1 victory over Bellarmine on Saturday.
 
-  In the past two matches, Mitchell tallied 48 kills and 28 digs en route to her 10th and 11th double-doubles of the season.
 
-  Audrey Eurton compiled 150 assists over the final three contests of the regular season.
 
-  Molly Michalak is second in the ASUN with 353 kills.  Mitchell is fourth in the conference with 348 kills.
 
-  Sydney Schoen ranks fourth in the conference with 4.90 digs per set.  Eurton is ninth in the ASUN with 7.45 assists per set.
 
-  As a team, EKU led the ASUN in kills (1,420) and finished second in total digs (1,672) and total assists (,1317).
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Kennesaw State (19-8, 13-3 ASUN) enter postseason play as winners of 11 straight.  The Owls rank in the top five of the ASUN in kills, kills per set, assists, assists per set, total blocks and blocks per set. 
 
-  KSU notched a pair of 3-0 victories over the weekend on the road at North Florida and Jacksonville.
 
-  Emma Schurfranz is fourth in the ASUN with 3.41 kills per set and leads the Owls with 338 total kills.
 
-  McKinley Ferguson ranks fourth in the ASUN with 9.70 assists per set while Lauren Chastang ranks fifth in the conference with 3.19 kills per set.
