RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University track and field teams will have student-athletes competing at both the Music City Challenge in Nashville and the Lenny Lyles Cardinal Invitational in Louisville over the next five days.

Two Colonels – junior Ahmed Jaziri and sophomore Keeton Thornsberry – will run in the men's 3,000 meters on Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Music City Challenge. The race is scheduled to go off at 3:25 p.m. ET and will air live on SEC Network+.

Jaziri already owns the 19th fastest 3K time in the NCAA (8:01.85).

Several Colonels will travel to Louisville on Wednesday, Feb. 17, for the Lenny Lyles Cardinal Invitational.

The event will be the first-ever held at the new Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. The 24-acre, multi-sport complex located in Louisville's Russell neighborhood, will host a variety of local, regional and national track meets, other sporting events, concerts and other events. The facility features 90,000 square-feet of floor space with a 4,000 seat, 200-meter banked indoor track and competition areas for all jump, vaults and throws and a 400-meter outdoor track.

The meet gets underway at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday with the weight throw and the 60-meter hurdles, and should wrap up around 4 p.m. with the 4x400 meter relays.
