MARTIN, Tenn. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team fell in the series finale against UT Martin, 4-0, on Saturday in Martin.
The game was called after five innings with poor weather in the area.

UT Martin (17-7, 7-5 OVC) took its first lead of the series in the second inning.

Aalia Bivens got things started with a single to center field and advanced to second on a fielding error. Maddi Long followed suit with a single of her own to center field to give the Skyhawks a 1-0 lead. Macey Neal delivered the big blow with a two-run home run to right field to give UTM a 3-0 advantage.

Eastern Kentucky (18-8, 10-4 OVC) could never get anything going against the Skyhawks and only manufactured two hits on the contest.

The Skyhawks pushed an insurance run across in the bottom of the fourth without a ball leaving the infield, with three singles and a walk.

Zoe Mihalicz had two hits and
Sammi Miller had one.

Eastern hits the road on Wednesday for a midweek showdown with Miami (OH). First-pitch against the RedHawks is scheduled for 4 p.m.
