JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Eastern Kentucky University's beach volleyball team lost a pair of matches on the final day of Jacksonville State tournament.
 
The Colonels (0-4) fell in the opening match 4-1 against UT Martin, before falling to Chattanooga, 5-0, in the final match of the weekend.
 
In match one, the number five pairing of Kaylin Johnson and Alexis Falcone swept the number five pairing of the Skyhawks in straight sets 22-20 and 21-16 to get the Colonels on the board.
 
The number three pairing Raegan Alexander and Molly Michalak battled after falling in the opening set 21-13. The duo stormed back to take the second set, 21-18, to force a third set. Alexander and Michalak came up short in the final set falling 15-10.
 
In match two, again Alexander and Michalak battled back after falling in the first set 21-12. The duo responded with a 24-22 win over Chattanooga's number three pairing, before falling in the final set 15-12.
 
The Colonels welcome in-state rival Morehead State to Richmond as EKU will host its first ever beach match. There will be a ceremony to open the facility that starts at 5 p.m. with first serve at 5:30 p.m.
