MURRAY, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky lost both ends of a doubleheader at Murray State on Friday. EKU dropped the first game 6-3, before falling in game two by a score of 10-8.

Trailing 2-0 in the first game,
Santiago Peralta got EKU on the board when he led off the third inning with a home run over the wall in left. The Colonels took the lead in the sixth. With two outs and one on,
Logan Thomason drove the ball over the wall in left center to put the visitors in front 3-2.

The Racers scored twice in the bottom of the sixth and led the rest of the way. A two-out double by Ryan Perkins tied it and a RBI single by David Hudleson made it 4-3.

Seven different Colonels had one hit each. Pennington finished 3-for-3 with two runs and a RBI for Murray State.

Eastern Kentucky scored first in game two when
Caleb Upshaw singled to left center with two outs in the first inning to bring home
Kendal Ewell. However, MSU scored five unanswered.

Down 5-1 in the top of the third, the Colonels (13-24, 7-13 OVC) got back into the game on a run scoring single by
Daniel Harris IV and a RBI double by Upshaw that made it a two-run game, 5-3.

The Racers pulled away by answering with four runs in the bottom half of the third. A sacrifice fly brought home the first. Two runs scored on an Eastern throwing error and the fourth scored on a wild pitch.

With EKU down 10-3 in the top of the eighth, Upshaw hit a solo home run. He finished 3-for-3 with a run and three RBIs. Harris hit a three-run home run in the top of the ninth and finished 2-for-5 with two runs and four RBIs.

Jake Slunder was 2-for-4 with two runs for the Racers (20-16, 11-7 OVC).
